Law Enforcement Guidelines

Effective 31 July 2026. All legal documents

Sovryk is operated ahead of company incorporation in Romania. The registered company name, address and registration number will be published here as soon as incorporation completes. Until then the operator is reachable at contact@sovryk.com.

Effective date: 31 July 2026

Sovryk is committed to protecting the lawful privacy of its users and to acting as a responsible, legitimate service provider. This page explains how we handle requests from law enforcement and other authorities.

1. We respond to valid legal process

We review and respond to legally valid requests (e.g. a court order, warrant, or other binding legal instrument) issued through proper channels and appropriate to our jurisdiction (Iceland (1984 Hosting, Reykjavik) / Romania). We do not act on informal or invalid requests.

2. What data we hold and what we can provide

By design, we collect and retain minimal data. We use end-to-end encryption, which means:

We will not fabricate, reconstruct, or attempt to weaken encryption to satisfy a request. We provide only data we genuinely possess.

3. How to submit a request

Authorities may contact legal@sovryk.com with a valid legal instrument. Requests should identify the account, the legal basis, and the specific data sought. We may seek legal review before responding.

4. Emergencies

In cases involving an imminent risk of serious harm to a person, we will consider emergency requests in accordance with applicable law.

5. Abuse reports

Members of the public can report illegal content or conduct to abuse@sovryk.com. We act on valid reports, including by suspending or terminating offending accounts.

6. Transparency

We intend to publish periodic transparency reporting on the number and type of requests received and our responses, consistent with legal constraints.

7. Notice to users

Where legally permitted, we may notify a user that their information has been requested. We will not do so where prohibited by law or a valid order.

8. European Production and Preservation Orders

From 18 August 2026, Regulation (EU) 2023/1543 allows a judicial authority in any Member State to address a European Production Order or a European Preservation Order directly to us. We respond within the deadlines set by that Regulation: 10 days as a rule, and 8 hours for validated emergency requests. Orders should be served on legal@sovryk.com using the certificate forms provided for in the Regulation.

9. Preservation, and why we never destroy

From the moment we are notified of a valid request or preservation order, automatic deletion is suspended for the data concerned, and it stays suspended until the matter is resolved. Providing encryption is lawful. Destroying evidence is not, and we do not do it.

10. Our full legal position

The laws and case law behind everything on this page, including why message content is not in our possession, are set out on our legal basis page.
